1) The Trained Observer must put on a new pair of disposable gloves before starting to clean the application site.

2) After choosing the area to apply the Sweat Patch and Overlay, you must thoroughly and aggressively clean a 6 inch by 6 inch section of skin with at least two 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes. There is one alcohol wipe supplied for each PharmChek® Sweat Patch and one alcohol wipe for each PharmChek® Overlay in your kit.

3) The alcohol removes oil, dirt, and dead skin cells; therefore, it is important to aggressively cleanse the application area prior to applying the PharmChek® Sweat Patch and overlay.

4) Using a gloved hand, thoroughly cleanse the location with an alcohol pad. Be sure the area is completely clean by observing the surface of the alcohol pad. If the pad surface is discolored, continue to cleanse the skin with a fresh alcohol pad until the pad surface is clean and free of any discoloration.

You must make sure to let the skin dry for at least 60 to 90 seconds before applying the PharmChek® Sweat Patch. If the alcohol is not dry, the Sweat Patch will not adhere well to the skin, thereby decreasing wear-time.

If the Sweat Patch is applied before the alcohol has completely evaporated, it may cause an alcohol burn or reddening of the skin surface.
